There is always room for a little side income if you have the time and energy at the end of the day after you leave the office. You certainly have some skills and talents which are not useful in your full time job, but which other people can benefit from.
Many people manage to add to their fixed income by starting small internet home businesses which do not require keeping regular hours of business and arranging their schedule according to their clients’ wishes. You can be like one of these people and make more money for your family and to support your hobbies, without quitting your full time job and endangering your main source of income.
The following types of internet business can be done when you have a few spare hours and nothing better to do:
1. Filling in Surveys
It takes only minutes to fill in a survey and, even though the pay per survey is not great, if you manage to fill in at least 10 per day, at the end of the month you will supplement your income by a few hundred dollars. That’s not really bad, is it?
This type of internet home business is great because it does not require any special skills or talents, and you do not have any restrictions such as a minimum surveys per day or hours per week. Indeed, on a rainy weekend when your friends have cancelled your movie-going plans, it is a good way to spend the time and make some money at the same time.
2. Reviewing Resumes
Some people are not really good with words. They are experienced professionals in their line of work, but you wouldn’t notice it by reading their clumsily worded resumes. If you have the talent of selling your own skills, you can do that for others. Whenever you have free time, you can make money by reviewing and polishing other people’s resumes and cover letters.
This is a really lucrative side business because the competition for a job is increasing, not only for top level professionals but even for lesser white collar jobs. Having a good resume is a must, and a lot of applicants need your talents.
3. Selling Blog or Website Templates
If you are talented at web design, but do not have the time or are not willing to become a freelance web designer, you can continue with your full time job and set up a website selling some templates which you created in your spare time. Since you do not have to work directly with clients and follow their instructions, the only time spent for this internet home business is the one when you prepare the templates (and for skilled designers, this is a few hours’ job).
4. Selling Training Courses
People are always looking out to learn something new to help them in their careers, or to be more independent by acquiring DIY skills. If you have the knowledge but not the time to organize online tutoring lessons or post video tutorials, you can spend your spare time preparing detailed training courses, step-by-step DIY manuals, etc., and sell them on your own website or through platforms such as eBay.
5. Affiliate Marketing
This is the type of side income with minimum involvement and effort by you. All you have to do is post links leading to the merchants’ products, and once a sale is made you earn a fee. You do not have to do anything else after you posted the link on your blog, or on the social media. You go on with your job and life and then notice a check at the end of the month. That’s pretty awesome, isn’t it?
As you can see, if you really want to make some extra money, you can do it. You just have to make up your mind to use a part of your spare time efficiently and creatively, instead of simply watching TV or playing video games…
